You should consider several factors when shopping for a new jacket. For example, the fabric can change the way it hangs on you, and therefore can flatter your body type, or do the opposite. If you have narrow shoulders, try to go for a fabric that is more stiff, so it gives some shape to your shoulders, without excessive padding. If you are short, you should try to go with a cut that will lengthen your frame, particularly be aware of where the jacket hits on your body. There are cuts that span from hips, to mid thigh.
